Behind the development of the vineyards at Ohau is a team who have made a commitment to quality at every level of the business. From our very first plantings, through to the winemaking and marketing of our new wines, we have focused on the very best quality practices. Ohau Wines has two key wine labels, Ohau Gravels and Woven Stone. Ohau Gravels is named after the Ohau region and includes a Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris.
Both wines have established a consistent quality record including a trophy for the inaugural vintage of the Ohau Gravels Pinot Gris 2009. Wines in this label are made in restricted quantities.
Woven Stone wines are also made from the vineyards at Ohau and in addition to a Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris we make a Pinot Noir. These wines offer excellent value for money and are more widely available than the Ohau Gravels brand.
All our wines are made by leading New Zealand winemaker Jane Cooper at a state-of-the-art winery at Matahiwi Estate in Wairarapa.

Ripe stonefruit and pears with rose petal and turkish delight aromas. Tropical fruit palate, sweet fragrant pears and ripe melon. A luscious palate with good balance and length with just a touch of fruit sweetness.

An aroma of lifted tomato leaf and lime skins, Granny Smith apple. Fresh with vibrant acidity and hints of lime and citrus. The palate is dense and well-balanced with a mineral, juicy finish.

A soft palate with gentle acidity, flavours of rock melon and peach and a hint of honey.

Slightly leafy, limey fruit with a juicy gooseberry finish. The palate is soft but with gooddepth of flavour. Juicy gooseberry and limes, ome ripe green apples, good persistence.

Supple, fruit-driven with fragrant cherry and plum flavours with a savoury note and a dash of oak. Enjoy in its youth or cellar the wine carefully for up to three years to enjoy more complex, rich characters. Serve with beef, duck or a full flavoured chicken dish.

New to Ohau Wines and just bottled is Magenta Rose! A soft palate with gentle acidity with flavours of strawberry and melon; aromas of light raspberry notes with a touch of rose petal and ripe red apple. Enjoy with antipasti or pasta with cream sauces and parmesan cheese.
