Winery toasts future of China market

New Zealand wineries should be taking China seriously and not believe the Chinese are only red wine drinkers, a Horowhenua winery says.

Ohau Vineyard taps Asian Market

Ohau Vineyards has beaten the odds and finalised a deal to sell its award-winning wines throughout China.

Ohau Vineyard's wines, which are sold in a store in Guangzhou at the famous Pacific Wine Wharf will soon be sold in Shenzhen and Wuhan.

'Excellent' winery to make impression on Chinese

A Horowhenua winery whose name means "everything is excellent" in Mandarin has made an impression on overseas buyers – and is set to make a big splash in China.

Grape Man

After forging a love affair with Vietnam while working as a diplomat, Peter Healy has returned to Saigon to promote one of New Zealand’s most exciting wine brands. Two years later and things are going pretty much to plan for the venture. New Zealand wine is now firmly in vogue worldwide and the four wines currently produced by Ohau Gravels have won widespread acclaim from critics across the globe.  Duncan Forgan finds out more about his latest venture.

Kiwis making moves in Vietnam

The Maori word Ohau, the brand name under which Peter Healy markets his wine throughout Asia, sounds like "everything is excellent" when heard by Mandarin speakers.

But while Healy and Ohau Gravels are making inroads into the enormous Chinese market, he is finding things are generally much better south of the border in Vietnam.
